For most of the 2009 MLB season, the A's offense has been struggling. Fans attending games, or watching them on TV have yet to see their team's off season moves (most notably aquiring Matt Holiday and Jason Giambi) bear fruit. Sure Giambi hit his 400th home run, but aside from that, A's baseball has featured few fireworks and it doesn't help McAfee Coliseum is one of the worst hitter's parks in the bigs.
The Athletics were counting on an improved offense to bolster a young pitching staff, and for the first half of the season the offense fell well short as the A's posted a 37-50 record prior to the All-Star break, and are currently 14.5 games back of first place in the AL West.
However, in the past several games against the Minnesota Twins, the A's have finally seemed to dial in on pitchers, beating the Twins in comeback fashion 14-13 on Monday, and following that performace with a 16-1 shellacking of those same Minnesota Twins today.
Question is: Can the A's bats stay hot?
